A Feng Shui Tip from E. J. Shaffert, Director of London School of Feng Shui
I do not intend to make you paranoid…but do you realize that you may have a “poison arrow” pointed right at you, as you read this??
Yep, that’s right, in Feng Shui terms, there may be features in your environment that are pointing a negative, or “shar chi” energy at you. The “poison arrow” effect occurs when there is a sharp corner or object facing you, which directs a cutting energy in your direction.
In an earlier newsletter, we discussed how this “shar chi” could be coming at your seat from the corner of furniture or even the spines of books on the bookcase. But, do you realize that your next door neighbors may be pointing their arrows at you as well?
Years ago, my brother and I were driving through a shopping district in Florida and I saw a large modern building that had a sharp corner pointing directly at the shopping center across the street. I commented that this has a very negative effect in Feng Shui, and my brother confirmed that the entire shopping center had recently gone out of business and that they had trouble keeping that mall occupied!
Evidently, in Asia, it is not uncommon for businesses to intentionally design their buildings with sharp corners pointed at their neighbors, in order to cut down on the competition!
Observe the buildings that surround you, and if you notice any serious “shar chi” arrows, there are a few things that you can do. First, you could install bushes or even a fence to obstruct this energy. Or, consider purchasing a special “bagua” mirror to install outside, to deflect the energy. This is a more serious cure, and best to check with a Feng Shui supplier or consultant about the best way to position and install these, as they should never be used indoors.
By consciously protecting your property in this way, you will help create a more peaceful and protected energy for your home.
