A Feng Shui Tip from E. J. Shaffert, Director of London School of Feng Shui
In traditional Feng Shui, the bedroom is considered the most important room in the house.
This is partly because we spend more hours a day in this room than probably any other. And, it is also the room where we are apt to spend intimate time with another.
The most important consideration in the bedroom is the placement of the bed. In Tibetan Feng Shui, the compass direction that the bed faces is not an essential consideration, but you should pay strictest attention to the placement of the bed in relation to the door into the room.
In a previous newsletter, we reviewed the importance of what is called the Command Position, which involves placing important pieces of furniture so that you have a solid wall behind you, and you have a direct view of the door to the room.
This is especially important with the bed, so you can feel safe and secure. If you sit up in bed, you should be able to clearly see the entrance of the room, but without being directly in line with the entrance.
If your feet are directly in line with the entrance, this is actually called the Coffin Position in Feng Shui, because they usually take the deceased out of a room, feet first! So make sure that you can see the door, but are not directly in line with it.
Once the bed is in the proper position, it is time to consider the rest of the room. If the goal is to have a warm and sexy environment, then the colors and furnishings you should invoke these feelings. Take out any furnishings that are in cool shades of blue, green or grey, and replace them with reds, pinks, and purples.
And then, notice the images that you bring into the room. If this is to be a sanctuary for love, then the images in the room should invoke this feeling. Consider taking out any family photos and keep only those of the two of you. And especially be wary of any artwork that depicts solitary figures — if you want a great romance, the essential number is “2”.
With these suggestions, I think you will find that you can dramatically change the feeling of a bedroom, and then greatly enhance, or attract, a romance.
Enjoy!
