A Feng Shui Tip from E. J. Shaffert, Director of London School of Feng Shui

In the last few months, we have been exploring the Feng Shui of each room of the house, to see how we can increase the healthy flow of “chi” energy in all areas of the home.

And now that summer is here, it is time to get outside, and look at how the energy is approaching the house itself.

Your front path is considered the gateway of your home, and this is the metaphoric “path of prosperity.”

Ideally, your path (or outer hallway, if you are in an apartment) should curve gently towards your front door, so the “chi” energy will meander and flow easily towards you, and not approach too fast and approach your front door too aggressively.

To contain the energy as it comes down the path, consider planting some shrubs or flowers along the way; these will invite the energy and gently guide it towards you. Traditionally, an odd number of plants on each side is considered to be more conducive, as odd numbers propel movement forward as they seek their resolution in an even sum.

Summer is here — time to get outside and plant new opportunities along our path!

Enjoy,
